The Lemon Detox Diet was originally introduced more than 50 years ago by the highly successful and legendary naturopath, Stanley Burroughs. At this time the abundant grade B maple syrup alone was only used in the detox program.

In the early 1980’s, with the advancement of technology and research, The Madal Bal Natural Tree Syrup™ was developed with the experience, advice and help of Stanley Burroughs by a world wide specialist team led by Swiss psychologist Dr. K.A. Beyer, including Dr. Meywald (doctor in western and natural medicine & homeopath), Dr. Raabe (doctor of western and natural medicine & ayurvedic doctor) and Dr Kumudini Weerawarna (ayurvedic doctor, pharmacist and herbalist)

Through thousands of tests and 5 intensive years of research, the Madal Bal Natural Tree Syrup™ was created to replace maple syrup in the original drink. The new syrup supplies the body with higher levels of potassium, zinc, vitamin B, magnesium, manganese, sodium, and calcium. They found that maple syrup alone did not fully support the cleansing process and determined that while it was so important to cleanse the body, that it was just as important to provide the body with the highest level of nourishment during the cleanse
