WHAT IS BEE POLLEN?

Today, scientists describe pollen as a complete food. The human body is made up of 22 essential elements and pollen is the only food that contains each and every one of them. Pollen contains 27 vitamins and aminos, 28 minerals and a balanced range of antioxidants, as well as micronutrients, enzymes, hormones, RNA and DNA (the very stuff life is made of).

Pollen is the male seed of flowers. It is required for the fertilization of the plant. The tiny particles consist of 50/1,000-millimeter corpuscles, formed at the free end of the stamen in the heart of the blossom. Every variety of flower in the universe puts forth a dusting of pollen. Many orchard fruits and agricultural food crops do, too.

Bee Pollen is the male seed of a flower blossom which is in the form that has been gathered by the bees and to which special elements from the bees has been added. The honeybee collects pollen and mixes it with its own digestive enzymes. One pollen granule contains from one hundred thousand to five million pollen spores each capable of reproducing its entire species.

Bee pollen is the food of the young bee and it is approximately 40% protein. It is considered one of nature's most completely nourishing foods. It contains nearly all nutrients required by humans. About half of its protein is in the form of free amino acids that are ready to be assimilated directly by the body.

One of the most interesting facts about bee pollen is that it cannot be synthesized in a laboratory. When researchers take away a bee's pollen-filled comb and feed her manmade pollen, the bee dies even though all the known nutrients are present in the lab-produced synthesized food. Many thousands of chemical analyses of bee pollen have been made with the very latest diagnostic equipment, but there are still some elements present in bee pollen that science cannot identify. The bees add some mysterious "extra" of their own. These unidentifiable elements may very well be the reason bee pollen works so spectacularly against so many diverse conditions of ill health.

Honeybees do double duty. They are programmed to gather pollen and carry it back to the hive as food for the colony. However, even more important as far as humans are concerned, they are also responsible for the pollination of more than 80 percent of green growing things. As bees buzz from blossom to blossom, microscopic pollen particles coat their stubby little bodies so densely that they sometimes look like little yellow fuzz balls. When they arrive at the next flower, a portion of the live golden dust is transferred to that blossom and pollination is accomplished.

It is important to recognize that a one teaspoon dose of pollen takes one bee working eight hours a day for one month to gather. Each bee pollen pellet contains over two million flower pollen grains and one teaspoonful contains over 2.5 billion grains of flower pollen.

Perfectly balanced by Mother Nature to feed your cells, pollen will re-energise and rejuvenate your life. It is a powerful Super Food, which contains about 97 recognised nutrients.

HOW IS BEE POLLEN COLLECTED?

Pollen is gathered with so much effort and sacrifice by the bees to feed their young. The bee’s life span is 4 to 8 weeks.

Once a honeybee arrives at a flower, she settles herself in and gracefully begins to scrape off the powdery loose pollen from the stamen with her jaws and front legs. The bees disgorge on the pollens which they bring to the hive a drop of the contents of their stomachs to make the pollen sticky to form the pellets and adhere on their pollen baskets. It is the secretion of the bees on the pollens which transforms them to such an active product having the qualities and properties which bee pollen offers.

With a skilful pressing movement of her auricle, which is used as a hammer, she pushes the gathered gold into her baskets. Her pollen baskets, surrounded by a fringe of long hairs, are simply concave areas located on the outside of her tibias. When the bee's baskets are fully loaded, the microscopic golden dust has been tamped down into a single golden grain, or granule.

By its very nature pollen contains a certain quality of glucosides but the bees add a little nectar to agglutinate the grains to give them sufficient adherence to form the pellets. The sugars in bee pollen are mainly fructose and glucose, and as with the high content of fructose and glucose in the Madal Bal Natural Tree Syrup, this provides the necessary support to the body, in particular the nervous system and the brain cells, which essentially depend on glucose as a source of energy

A bee brings two loads of pollen at a time in her pollen baskets, that is, two
pellets which weigh an average of 20mgs. What is remarkable is that the bees know and select pollens richer in nitrogenous matter and ignore the poor ones. Hand picked pollen from flowers only have a fraction of substances of that collected by bees, and this is truly a remarkable and unique method of collection that only the bee can produce.

Bee keepers collect the bee pollen in a basket placed at the entrance of the bee hive. On returning to their hives, bees enter the hive through the ‘pollen trap’ placed by the bee keepers. The bee pollen is knocked from the bees legs into the basket and is collected regularly be the bee keepers.
